
Dallas, Texas, September 10, 2009 – t. howard & associates architects has announced that Mukesh Patel, AIA, NCARB, has joined the firm as Senior Healthcare Planner. With more than 15 years of experience, Mukesh is a recognized expert in healthcare facility design. His responsibilities will include master planning, space programming, pre-schematic block planning, schematic design, design development and coordination through construction documents, while also assisting in overall design direction and resolution of key issues.
Mukesh has extensive experience in planning all healthcare department types, including Surgery, Interventional Radiology, Oncology, Imaging, Emergency, NICU, Ambulatory Clinics, USP 797 Pharmacy, Bed Units, Support Services, as well as assisting in fully automated Clinical Laboratories and Dietary. He has implemented surge capacity designs for outbreaks and mass disaster, and has a thorough understanding of hospital functionality and how to create operational efficiencies. Mukesh is also expert in utilizing appropriate planning strategies such as lean, CPI, supply chain management and ergonomics, while also addressing life safety, ADA, healthcare guidelines and JCAHO standards. His healthcare experience also includes designing medical office buildings, central energy plants, parking garages, ambulatory surgery and oncology centers.
Mukesh comes to t. howard & associates from the Dallas office of HKS Architects, where he served as Senior Healthcare Planner from 1993 until 2009.
Mukesh graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors of Architecture.
