Davy Crockett School Apartments
Located in the heart of historic Old East Dallas, the landmark 1903 Davey Crocket School has been revived and given new lease on life. Spaces once outfitted as classrooms and lunchrooms have been transformed into luxurious apartments. The National Historic Landmark served as an elementary school
and then a Dallas ISD administration building until 1989, the last time it was regularly used.
The Davy Crocket School’s classrooms, basement and gymnasium have been revitalized into 52 apartments and public rooms. The structure retains much of the original design, including its wide hallways and 18-foot ceilings. The original lockers, water fountains and many of the light fixtures have been incorporated into the final design.
The Renovation has been featured in several articles ( please see “Press” section)
