Good Shepherd Episcopal School
A gift to the School was intended to provide a new outdoor learning environment for the students of Good Shepherd Episcopal School. The focus for th+a was to create a space that not only allowed for interaction and learning, but sought to inspire collaboration and creativity.
Our design accomplished this task through the incorporation of natural phenomena into the space, featuring a “Green” Vegetation wall, hand-cranked water feature, “Periscope” elements within freestanding masonry walls, and wind features. The result is an outdoor learning environment that offers multiple opportunities for teachers and students, alike, to create new and exciting avenues for education.
As the school campus is a master planned campus, with an established architectural language, our space seeks to blend in by utilizing many of the common materials seen throughout the campus, including flagstone pavers, multicolored red brick walls, painted steel members, etc.
